How does cost compare over time?

Cloud pricing is often per-seat or usage-based behind a quote, so the bill is hard to predict and grows as you add people or data. Elenchon publishes everything: a flat rate per appliance with 20 or 50 workers included, extra seats at €9/month, and hardware at cost. Both charge for scale — the difference is that ours is knowable in advance, down to the euro.

Doesn't on-premise cost more to set up?

It's the common assumption, and usually the reverse is true. Cloud implementation and onboarding in industrial software routinely run into five figures, on top of the subscription. An Elenchon deployment is a modest, published one-time figure. The one genuine extra — the hardware — we pass through at cost, with no markup, so it never becomes a place to profit. You get our own engineers installing and configuring the appliance on your floor for less than a typical cloud setup invoice, and from there a flat monthly rate instead of a meter that climbs.

Can on-premise software still be reached remotely?

Yes. Elenchon's optional Phrakton overlay lets authorised staff — and even auditors — connect through mutually authenticated, post-quantum-safe tunnels, without the appliance exposing any public address — remote access without cloud exposure.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

With Elenchon, the data is on your hardware and you keep view-only access to your history for audits. With many cloud tools, access ends when the subscription does — worth confirming with any vendor you consider.

Is on-premise welding software harder to run than cloud?

Less than shops expect. Elenchon ships as a containerized appliance that our own engineers deliver, install and configure on-site, so there's no IT project to staff. After that, your only job is to keep it powered on: we connect in remotely over Phrakton to apply updates and monitor it — your team never patches anything — and we resolve the large majority of issues without anyone leaving their desk. For a critical problem that genuinely can't be fixed remotely, we come on-site to fix it free of charge, anywhere in the world. Day to day, on-site users just open the app on your network, and — with the optional Remote Access Module — anyone off-site reaches it just as easily through Phrakton. On-premise ownership, without an on-premise maintenance burden.

Does on-premise mean fewer features?

Not with Elenchon. It runs the full platform on-premise — traceability, the WPS/WPQR/WPQ workflow, floor capture, equipment control and more — not a reduced local edition.

Is cloud welding software less secure?

In a real sense, yes. A cloud service is reachable on the public internet and sits on shared infrastructure — that exposure is built into the architecture, no matter how much the vendor invests in defending it.
