Welding Qualification Software
for WPS, WPQR & WPQ.
Build and qualify welding procedures, capture WPQR data on the shop floor, and keep welder continuity (WPQ) audit-ready — all on an on-premise appliance you own.
One Workflow, From Procedure to Proof
Welding qualification software manages the records that prove your welds are made by qualified people to qualified procedures — Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS), Welding Procedure Qualification Records (WPQR — the ISO term, equivalent to an ASME PQR), and Welder Performance Qualifications (WPQ). Elenchon runs that entire workflow inside your facility, on hardware you own, so qualification data never leaves the shop and audit evidence is always a click away. It is the sovereign, excellence-first standard for welding qualification — the full WPS, WPQR and WPQ workflow on hardware you own.
WPS Software
The qualified, written procedure your welders follow in production — authored, ranged, and version-locked.
A WPS tells a welder exactly how to make a production weld: process, base and filler materials, joint design, position, and the qualified parameter ranges. Elenchon manages that document end to end.
- Author in-app: Define a preliminary WPS (pWPS) directly in Elenchon, then refine it yourself as real WPQR results come in from the floor.
- Automatic WPS import: Bring your existing WPS documents in with our parser — it reads each form and extracts every field automatically, so you don't re-type a thing. Just need a standalone cloud WPS library? See Elenchon WPS Manager →
- Export a finalized WPS: Turn a qualified procedure into a clean, exportable WPS, with the official files uploaded or linked at any stage.
- Versioned revisions: Every WPS revision is versioned and verified as it is captured, and corrections stay visible to managers — a clean revision history without an administrative bottleneck.
- Offline on the floor: Workers save a WPS with one click for instant access anywhere on the floor, even in total Wi-Fi dead zones.
WPQR Software
The evidence behind every WPS — captured from the real weld, not typed up after the fact.
A WPQR records the actual parameters used to weld a test coupon and the results of testing it. It is the proof that qualifies a WPS. Elenchon captures that proof at the source.
- Capture on the shop floor: Record actual WPQR parameters where the weld happens, then import those real values straight back into the procedure.
- WPQR results, surfaced: Captured WPQR data is imported back beside the procedure, so you write the finalized WPS with the test evidence in front of you.
- Fully linked: Every WPS stays traceable to the WPQR evidence that supports it, so an auditor can follow the chain from procedure to proof.
- Heat traceability: Heat numbers are captured, linked to their parent MTRs, and propagated down the project tree — full traceability without database bloat.
WPQ & Welder Continuity Software
Know that every welder is qualified for the work in front of them — automatically.
A WPQ qualifies an individual welder to produce sound welds within a defined range, and most codes require ongoing continuity. Elenchon tracks both without paperwork.
- WPQ on file, welds surfaced automatically: Upload a welder's qualification and Elenchon surfaces the qualifying welds behind it, so a supervisor can verify continuity in the app instead of chasing paper.
- Automatic 6-month continuity: Continuity is logged from actual floor entries — not a separate spreadsheet — and the system warns you before it lapses.
- Expiry alerts: Get notified before a qualification expires, so no welder ever works outside an approved range.
- Deep qualification engine: Track welder and non-welder qualifications alike, each with its own credentials and renewal rules.
Audit-Ready ISO & ASME IX Evidence
Every qualification, variable and process is verified and attributed the moment it is captured. When the auditors arrive, your WPS, WPQR and WPQ evidence is instant, undisputed, and ready to read straight off the record — for codes such as ISO 3834 and ASME IX.
Your Qualification Data Never Leaves the Shop
Most welding qualification software is cloud software: your WPS, WPQR and WPQ records live on someone else's server, behind someone else's outages and forced updates. Elenchon is the opposite — a containerized appliance installed in your facility, fully under your jurisdiction.
- Absolute data ownership: Qualification records stay on your physical hardware. Cancel anytime and keep view-only access for audits.
- No forced updates, no cloud dependency: A vendor cloud outage can never lock you out of your own records — they live on your appliance, not someone else's server.
- Secure remote access, optional: Reach the app from home or the field through Phrakton, our secure network overlay — while the appliance stays off the public internet.
Welding Qualification Software, Answered
WPS, WPQR and WPQ — what they are, and how Elenchon handles them on your own hardware.
What is the difference between a WPS and a WPQR?
A WPQR — the ISO procedure record, equivalent to an ASME PQR — documents the actual parameters used to weld and test a coupon. A WPS is the qualified written procedure a welder follows in production, with its ranges supported by one or more WPQRs. The WPQR proves it; the WPS instructs it. Elenchon links the two so every WPS is traceable to its evidence.
Can Elenchon produce a finalized WPS from captured WPQR data?
Yes. Define a preliminary WPS in the app, capture the actual WPQR parameters on the floor, import those real values back beside the procedure, and export a finalized WPS you write from them — with official files uploaded or linked at any stage.
How does welder continuity (WPQ) tracking work?
A welder's WPQ is held on file, and Elenchon surfaces the qualifying welds behind it from real floor entries — logging 6-month continuity automatically and warning you before a qualification expires, so no welder works outside an approved range.
Is welder qualification included in the main platform?
Yes — the WPS/WPQR/WPQ workflow is a built-in part of Elenchon, not a separate product or paid add-on. Elenchon is one full welding management platform: shop-floor work capture, project structure and BOM import, weld traceability and equipment and consumable control, with qualification managed in the same system rather than bolted on beside it.
What is welding qualification software?
Welding qualification software manages the records that prove welds are made by qualified people to qualified procedures — WPS, WPQR and WPQ. Elenchon runs that whole workflow on-premise, so qualification data stays on hardware you own and audit evidence is always a click away.
Do you lose anything by keeping qualification records on-premise?
No — you gain control without losing reach. Your WPS, WPQR and WPQ records live on an appliance in your facility rather than a shared cloud server, so the evidence auditors care about is under your jurisdiction, not a vendor's. Authorised staff — and even auditors — still reach it from anywhere through Phrakton, our secure network overlay.
